2013 – Maria Quezada

 

Maria Quezada is a young actress from Florida. Her resume includes a wide range of credits including film, television, web, and more. She has been seen in the web series New World Order, and this month is off to California to film a new movie! To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook.

 

1. How did you get started in the industry?

I was writing stories since I was 5 years old. Writing give me the opportunity to be admitted in a Performing Art School, where I started to participated in theatre.

2. What was your first booking?

My first booking was a dramatization for Univision, I was shooting a documentary about Bullying Prevention Awareness. I was the bullied girl, this was an awesome experience because I was part of a campaign to save other kids life and help them to break the silence about bullying.

3. What was the best part about filming Pretermission?

The best part was work with my little sister Camila, I discovered that she has a passion for directing and work being behind the camera, I believe that one day she will be the director and I will be the actress, that will be the perfect match.

4. What was the shoot for For Family’s Sake like?

This was an amazing project, was about honor killing, the fact that honor killing still happening make me part of a history, I am sure that is going to be an award short film, not only for the message, but the story.

5. How do you prepare for auditions?

I try to maintain myself organic, I care more learn about the character, I imagine the scene and that way I discover feelings, is not about being sad or happy is about telling a story that the audience believe.

6. What was your favorite part of filming the web series New World Order?

The challenge to became and develop a whole new character. Being a zombie, a real zombie, I was studying about how they walk, how to look, I learned about makeup, I enjoy every moment, I always read and learn from my coaches that acting is about telling a story, but the fact that I was focus in being real and I discovered that on set was awesome. Now I know that I will be able to work with any character. Challenges make you better!

7. What is one of the funniest or coolest things to happen on set?

I really enjoy all the projects, each project brings magic and is a learning experience. But I remember when I was shooting For Family’s Sake, the interaction between the cast and crew was amazing, we were singing together, playing like real brothers and sisters, we were like a real family, with an important role, deliver a story about a sad reality that is happening today around the world, honor killing.

8. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

My siblings Camila and Andy, being a big sister is a compromise, I have to be an example, a director, a friend, a sister. I know what they like, how they think, what to do to make them smile, happy, working with them as a team was the best experience ever!

9. What is your favorite project to work on so far?

For Family’s Sake, I love the cast and the crew.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I was cast for a movie in California that will be shoot on November, “Camino al infierno”, is a movie about immigration and I will have the opportunity to work with famous Hispanic actors.
