Star-Kidz

Lucas Armendariz is the younger brother of Laura Krystine. This year he has been seen on Jimmy Kimmel, in a Target commercial, and more! To keep up to date make sure to follow him on Instagram.

1. What was the best part of filming your video for Crest?

Oh my gosh!!! CANDY the shoot was long and every single kind of candy that’s on the earth I got to eat!!!!!!! I also loved the shooting pinata!!!! The best part though was, I’ve always wanted the world’s largest gummy worm, and on the set I got to finally eat it (some of it).

2. What was your time of set filming your Target commercial like?

I filmed 2 target commercials! I loved, loved, loved both of them!!! The Christmas one was so incredible! Decorating the tree with friends! And best of all meeting the target dog!! BUT IF YOU KNOW ME, THEN YOU KNOW IM OBSESSED WITH STAR WARS!!!!!!!! SO…… Of course my most favorite job ever was my back to school target commercial where I got to use the force on the r2d2 back pack!!!!!!! It was awesome!!!

3. How did you react when you saw it on TV for the first time?

When I saw myself using the force on TV I felt like, “weird”. “Do people think I’m a Jedi”? I always made my mom rewind the commercial like 10+ times because I loved it so much!!!!!!!

4. Do you ever get to audition with your sister?

I have auditioned with my sister Laura Krystine before, but only like 2 or 3x. I think we are too far apart in age to audition together. And my little sister doesn’t do any of this stuff. BUT I did audition with my dad 1x(and 1x only, the casting director asked if he would come in with me) and we booked that job together!!!!! I will never forget that!!!!

5. What was the experience like working on Tales of Halloween?

Tales of Halloween was amazingly crazy!!!!!! The make-up people took me into the room to show me how they do all the intense make-up so that I could see what was going on. I actually worked with 2 different “witches” one that had all the make-up on her arms (claws) and the other was normal. So we had to do my part 2x with both people! I was so shocked to see myself as a blonde!!!! They sprayed my hair blonde for the role!!!! I actually really loved that set, everything was really cool!!!!

6. How do you enjoy working on Jimmy Kimmel?

My Jimmy Kimmel skits!!! I LOVE Jimmy Kimmel!!!!!! My book club meetings I did for him was a blast!!!!! But the most fun I had was my Halloween special I did!!!! We got to trick or treat with Guillermo and then spray him with tons of silly string! Hahaha!!! We got to keep all those Butterfinger candies and our silly string.

I hope I ca do more skits for Jimmy Kimmel Live!!!! They have been nothing but fun!!! And I love the way I’m treated on that set!!

7. What was your first day on set of Reel Kids like?

Reel kids was cool!!!!! We got to go to a private screening of, “Home” before it was even released!!!! I couldn’t believe I saw the movie before all the other kids!!!!!! I really enjoyed my time on set too!

8. What is your favorite part of doing Reel Kids?

Well, my favorite part was that I got to go with my family to Dreamworks studios and watch Home!!!! I met the director there and we talked about the interviews for fandango we would be doing the next day.

9. How do you spend your time off set when at a shoot?

I like to play on my iPad. Unless there is a really cool adult or set teacher that wants to play light sabers. I always come prepared with at least 5 light sabers in case someone there is cool! My mom never lets me play light sabers with the other kids cause she doesn’t want anyone to get hurt! When I went to my sisters wrap party for 100 Things To Do Before High School I had a battle with Owen Joyner! That was amazing!!!

10. Do you have a favorite project that you have worked on?

My favorite project so far is my Star Wars Target commercial! I always wonder if people think I’m a Jedi!!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I really want to thank my sister Laura for introducing me into this industry! I look up to her and I’m excited for her and I know she’s excited for me.

We’d like to thank Lucas for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
