2012 – Ilana and Adam Karchmer

 

Ilana and Adam Karchmer are older siblings to Ellie and Rose Karchmer. This year has been their year. Both have gotten their start in the industry and Adam has already booked a hit show. Check out what they have been doing this year.

 

1. How was Adam’s experience filming his commercial?

It was his first job and he was a little unsure at first, but once he got comfortable, he really enjoyed it. He got to work with another boy and they had a lot of fun playing in-between scenes. The director even played soccer with them for a little bit. The spot aired a lot on Sprout and PBS OnDemand and Adam was so proud every time he saw it.

 

2. How did Adam enjoy shooting The League?

Adam LOVES the cast and crew at The League. The show is so funny and the scenes he has been in have been pretty outrageous. Adam is very inquisitive and likes to know what everyone is doing and who they are. The crew has been so nice in explaining things to him and showing him how things work. He loves the trailer that is stocked like a convenience store with every type of snack food and candy you can imagine! Every time he is on set, the caterers make him his favorite cheese quesadilla with black olives and he thinks that’s pretty cool, too.

 

3. What was the first day on set like?

His first day on set at The League he had to have a bottle of water poured on his head, but he was a really good sport about it and understood that it was a funny joke. He has to have his hair blow-dried and change clothes for a second take and he thought that was silly.

 

4. Who have been his favorite people to work with?

Adam’s favorites are definitely Nick Kroll and Jason Mantzoukas. Those guys are so funny! Adam wishes they could hang out all of the time. Adam worked on another TV show and was looking to see if they were there, too!

 

5. Does Adam have a favorite scene he’s filmed for The League?

I think his favorite scene to film on The League is a scene that will appear in the season finale episode on 12/20. We can’t spoil the scene, but I think you’ll know which scene when the episode airs!

 

6. How did Adam and Ilana get started in the industry?

Adam and Ilana got started in the business earlier this year when their little sisters’ (Ellie & Rose) agent started her own agency and began representing kids 0-18 instead of just 0-3.

 

7. Would either of them want to do a project together or with their younger sisters?

The kids would love to do a project together. Adam and Ilana filmed an internet spot together and had a lot of fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7dco4Yo4WU All four kids have been on a couple of family auditions. Hopefully sometime soon a job for all four together will come along!

 

8. Has Ilana ever gone to set with her siblings, what has the experience been like?

Unfortunately, no siblings are allowed on set. She would really like to go, though!

 

9. Has Ilana worked on any projects?

Ilana got to be in an internet video for Kia Soul with Adam.

 

10. What has been one of the funniest moments to happen on set for Ilana and Adam?

The funniest moment on set for Adam was one day on The League when he was working long enough to stay and have lunch with the cast and crew. Nick and Jason invited Adam to sit with them. He asked them so many questions and had so much fun talking to them.
