Catelyn Scott is the older sister of Matthew and Nathan who played Tate on Days. She has worked for Spinmaster, VTech and more! To keep up to date make sure to follow her on Instagram.
1. How did you enjoy shooting with Colette Cugno?
I LOVE shooting with Colette! It’s been months since I’ve seen her and I still talk about her all the time. I like that she brings her puppets to the shoots. I thought it was HILARIOUS when her puppet was being naughty, and she put him on a time out!
2. What was your time on set like working for Cosamin?
Cosamin was my first major commercial and I had a blast! I worked with my pretend grandma Carol, and together we got to play with paint. We started the day in a studio with the paint, and then after lunch we had a long drive to the next location. I took a nap in the car, and I woke up ready to go when it was time to shoot again! At the second house we got to film outside in their huge backyard. There was another girl on set who I played with between takes, and she was lots of fun. Mom says I was a silly character and I kept the crew laughing. The directors said I did a great job, so I was very proud of myself 🙂
3. What was it like filming your VTech commercial?
I enjoyed the Vtech commercial because I got to play with toys and eat yummy food. They had a lady there who made tacos and smoothies, so that was awesome. I also made some new friends on set. I love when I get to work with other kids.
4. How did you enjoy shooting for Maisie Jayne?
Maisie Jayne was a crazy outdoor shoot because it was pouring rain! It was cold, but I still managed to have fun playing in the rain with new and old friends. The photographers brought clear umbrellas, so we could still twirl outside in our dresses without getting the clothes wet. I’ve done several shoots with Grow Lovely Photography and they always capture beautiful images with natural lighting.
5. What do you like about auditioning?
My favorite part of auditioning is definitely meeting new people and making people laugh with my silly personality. My least favorite part is LA traffic, yuck!
6. How did you like filming your video for Spinmaster?
The Spinmaster commercial was filmed at a home in LA with several other kids. I spent the day playing with new toys and eating pizza, so it was awesome! The directors also took our feedback about which toys we liked, so it was fun getting to be a toy expert for the day 🙂
7. What was the best part of working for Banzai?
The Banzai project was a blast because we got to play in a huge backyard with blow up water slides and bouncy houses. What’s not to love? My older brother Caleb also worked with me on the project, so we got to swim together in between shots.
8. What was the experience like filming Letters to Katherine?
I filmed the short film Letters to Katherine with Hayley Orrantia, who is an actress from The Goldbergs. In addition to being an actress, she is also a singer with an amazing voice. She even let me play around on her guitar. Hayley was so sweet and I loved getting to spend the day with her. This was my first time learning lines and filming multiple scenes, but I was up for the challenge! I’ve been told short films take a long time to make, so I haven’t seen it yet. I can’t wait for it to be released!
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
I’ve really loved everyone I’ve worked with so far, but my absolute favorites would be my pretend grandma Carol from the Cosamin commercial, and Hayley from Letters to Katherine. Oh, and I also love working with Colette and her puppets!
10. What has been your favorite project to work on and why?
My favorite project was Banzai because it was pretty much a giant pool party! I hope to get to do that job again when the weather warms up 🙂
