Star-Kidz

Merit Leighton is the older sister of Marlowe Peyton. This year she has been busy attending events and working on her web series KawaiiHappii! To keep up to date make sure to visit her official website, like her page on Facebook, follow her on Twitter and follow her on Instagram.

1. What was the experience like attending the Yo-Kai Preview event?

That was my first event as a Nintendo Brand Ambassador and having that title is such an honor. Being part of the media events like YoKai Watch 2 and vlogging for my YouTube show KawaiiHappii is a dream come true. Being able to bring along my friends and viewers to the Nintendo experience is so much fun.

2. How did you enjoy attending the Tiger Beat pre-party for the Teen Choice Awards?

The Tiger Beat party was great but any time I can go to with my squad it’s just that much better! There was cotton candy, I love cotton candy LOL and also a lot of friends that I don’t always get to see, so that always makes an already fun event, that much better!

3. What was your time on set like working on Let Go?

I played a ghost in an old church! I always wanted to play a ghost so I got to check that off the bucket list!

4. What is one of the coolest things you have done in an audition this year?

I had some great singing/acting auditions that I can’t really talk about in detail but I love it when I get to do both things in an audition.

5. What inspired you to create KawaiiHappii?

I have wanted to be a YouTuber for quite sometime, and I’m pretty weird lol. I have some unique interests, Japan, Anime, KPOP, comedy, and gaming. I decide that if I was going to create a channel it had to be about the things I love with my friends- Benjamin Stockham, Izzy Eggerling, my sister Marlowe Peyton and my boyfriend Jacob Hopkins. They are all so supportive, I could not do it without them!

6. How did you react when you found out you’re now a Nintendo Ambassador?

I kinda screamed and was in complete shock! Being a Nintendo Brand Ambassador is crazy cool, to able to be a part of a brand I love so much, I still can’t believe it sometimes. It’s also super exciting to get pre releases of the games since I’m a huge gamer!

7. What has been the coolest part of the role?

A lot of things, but I think being considered as a media outlet and getting the first scoop at media events alongside some pretty major influencers is mind blowing for me!

8. Do you have a favorite video game you have played this year?

I really love YoKai Watch 2 it’s super engaging and adorable! I’m also a big Overwatch player!

9. What has been one of the funniest things to happen while filming your web series?

I think the funniest stuff is all the mistakes that happen which we just leave in the show. I laugh all the time making these episodes with this gang, they are just such funny people. I also had a blast vlogging Jacob, Ben and Izzy at their first convention’s ever from AnimeExpo, WonderCon!

10. What can viewers look forward to next year for KawaiiHappii?

We just started a new segment called “What The Fairytale” starring Jacob Hopkins and myself. We make up a fairytales on the spot and when the bell rings we have insert a viewer suggested line… so much fun! Also we have new animated series in post production overseas called “PlaneMan” created by Ben Stockham and myself, starring Jacob Hopkins as Planeman, Ben Stockham, Izzy Eggerling, Marlowe Peyton, Gerad Hopkins, Cleo Fraser and myself! Premiering soon!

We’d like to thank Merit for participating in our Holiday Q&A Event!
