Jason Bastelli did an episode of AMC and played Ethan Snyder on As the World Turns. This year he was seen with his family on the series premiere of Unplugged Nation, and to keep up to date make sure to visit his website and like his manager’s page on Facebook.
1. How did you react when you found out you and your family would be on Unplugged Nation?
When I found out we we’re doing the Unplugged Nation show in Hawaii, I did the we’re going to Hawaii dance. It looks similar to the I just made a touchdown dance.
2. What was it like getting to travel for the show?
We enjoyed the flight to Hawaii. We stopped in Honolulu before we went Hilo. We flew right over the Pearl Harbor memorial. I saw it like I was bird. That was cool. On our way home we were stranded in LA all day. The airline was nice. They gave us free airline tickets, bought us lunch at a nice cafe, dinner at Wolfgang Pucks restaurant. They even incorporated a new flight to get us home. So it wasn’t bad for being stuck. Except my little brother was scared of the automatic flushers in the men’s room. They were on high force in his defense. But boy did he scream and run out every time.
3. What was your favorite part of the trip?
My favorite part of our trip was cliff jumping, and snorkeling with the turtles, and seeing the dolphins and whales jump out of the water. We also met a lot of nice people. The film crew is a great group. They taught me a lot of behind the scenes stuff. They had a drone for the aerial shots. That was sweet.
4. Is there a moment that you enjoyed or thought was really funny that didn’t make the cut?
One scene I thought for sure was gonna be in the show that didn’t make it in was, my little brother ran at me at full charge and pushed me right out of the shot. He then totally took over my interview. He even mimicked me. Not cool Justin! I also thought they were gonna use the footage of my dad not turning of the sink all the way. Then after that he slipped in the chicken coup and knocked over the bucket of water. We were learning to conserve not waste. They were nice not to embarrass us.
5. How did you feel about your family’s decision at the end of the episode?
It’s unanimous. We all love Hawaii.
6. What is the best part of doing voice over work?
I have fun doing voice over work. I enjoy opportunities that present themselves to me.
7. What was it like being a part of the big ATWT cast photo shoot?
That was great day. The location was awesome, we could see the big ocean cruisers come and go right from the studio. It was like a party. Everyone was there. There was good food. We all told stories. We were laughing during the photo shoot as well.
8. What was the best part about meeting ATWT fans?
ATWT fans are great people. They are so nice.
9. Is there anyone on the show you would have loved a chance to work with?
I think I did work with everyone. I know I met everyone. I would love to work with my TV Mom again, Noel. She was so nice. Every year on my birthday, she threw me a party. Gifts, Cake the works.
10. What else have you been up to this year?
I do a lot of charity work. I take acting classes. I go camping with the Boy Scout troop I am a part of. School and video games also take up my time. We travel and visit with friends and family. My life has always been an adventure, which I am very grateful about.
We’d like to thank Jason for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
