2016 – Sloane Morgan Siegel

 

Sloane Morgan Siegel did an episode of The Neighbors. He stars as Gortimer in Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street and recently filmed an episode of Pure Genius! 1. What was your time on set like filming Pure Genius?

It was great to be back in front of the camera and some of their crew were even from Gortimer. It was a challenging role since I was paralyzed and in a wheelchair for a lot of the filming. The cast and crew were awesome to work with and I loved the chance to stretch my character.

2. What was it like attending the “Knott’s Scary Farm” event?

It’s always a fun but frightening time there. I had a blast.

3. How did you enjoy attending Tiger Beat’s pre-party for the Teen Choice Awards?

I had just finished a photo shoot for Tiger Beat, and had a full page in the new magazine launch. Tiger Beat knows how to throw a party and most of my friends and fellow entertainers were there to share the good food and music.

4. What was the experience like doing a STEM Panel for Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street?

Who wouldn’t want to go to Google Headquarters in LA to see how those technology rock stars live? I got to share the panel with my Gortimer cast and friends and the questions from the young kids were awesome. Also, it was our first time to actually screen “The Abnormal Formal” episode where Gortimer gets his first real kiss.

5. Do you socialize with any of your Gortimer Gibbon’s co-stars outside of filming/show events?

Absolutely. Chandler Kinney and David Bloom and I are the best of friends. Sadly, Drew and Ashley live in Texas and Coco is going to college. However, Drew and his family did surprise me by flying in for my 16th birthday party.

6. What is it like working with David Bloom?

David and I actually worked together on a CBS show, “Partners” where we played the same character at different ages. He’s a blast to work with because of his tongue in cheek humor. We are at each other’s homes often as our families have become very close.

7. How do you like filming with Coco Grayson?

Coco is a true professional actress, we never broke character in a scene, and the results really show.

8. What was your last day on set like for the season?

I was Gortimer for 20% of my life at that point. It was the saddest day of my professional career, seeing an end to three beautiful years of my life. The cast and crew became a real family and it was hard to say goodbye to everyone and to Gortimer himself. However, Hollywood is a funny place where you continue to run into old friends on different projects.

9. How has Gortimer grown from the start of season one to the end of season two?

The whole point of the show is about growing through puberty and adolescence. He’s done that. He’s become a teenager, navigated relationships, family, friends, and school. I basically went through it with him as well.

10. What was your favorite episode to work on for the second half of season two?

I loved the entire season, but I’d say it was “The Mystery of Marlowe Mansion”. We got to portray multiple different characters, worked in an actual haunted mansion, and did our table read in a fancy ballroom. It was awesome.
