Star-Kidz

Laura Krystine appeared in an episode of The Neighbors back in 2012. This year she’s been seen in an episode of Instant Mom and filmed for Richie Rich. To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook.

1. How did you get started in the industry?

Well, it’s funny how I got started, I use to compete in scholarship based pageants and while competing at one (Miss American Starlet) I met a manager who helped me get started. I started at 5 1/2yrs old.

2. What was your time on set like working on Sam & Cat?

Working on Sam and Cat was, exciting, crazy, fun, amazing, awesome and totally a surreal week!!! Although my actual lines (my character was Kimberly) did not make the final cut(only me attacking dice and pulling him off the stage made it in) of the show, I do not care!! I mean……… I was in the same room and worked right next to Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy!!!!! I did school with Dice and had my dressing room right next to Ari’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m totally bummed that the show has been canceled, but still support all 3 of the actors! Ari, Jennette and Cameron are very talented and I love that I worked with them 🙂

3. What was it like meeting Bebe Wood on set of The New Normal?

I met and talked to Bebe very briefly. She was absolutely a sweetheart! Her dad was with her on set. And both were very kind.

4. How cool was it getting to shoot for Apple?

OH!!!! Working on the Apple set for my shoot was the BEST ever!!!! It was an all day play day!!!! We played with water balloons, hula hoops, had bouncy ball races and did 3 legged races. Just had sooooo much fun!!!!!! Since Apple is so top secret about everything I never knew what I was auditioning for and didn’t find out it was for Apple till we received the call sheet.

5. What was your time on set like filming The Neighbors?

The neighbors was a fun shoot!!!! I met really fun friends, I got to dress up all 3 days! It’s the latest I ever stayed on a set. I was there till 12:30am!

6. What was the best part about working on Instant Mom?

Working on, “Instant Mom” was definitely one of my most memorable experiences/sets!!! The cast and crew where absolutely amazing! I could go on and on about every detail!! From the awesome “school bus” that took us to and from the class room for school (golf cart) to meeting Tia was unbelievable! The final day was taped infront of a live audience and I got to be a part of that!!!! Tylen and Damar are probably the most disciplined and most respectful child actors I have worked with! I hope to go back and work on instant mom again because I really enjoyed my time there!!!

7. How did you enjoy your shoot for Pizza Hut?

Pizza Hut was also fun, the entire shoot was sports themed….. I’m a dancer and have never played any sport in my life, so I always joke with my family about, “that one time I played baseball and soccer” 🙂

8. Can you tell us about your experience working on Instructions Not Included?

My experience on, “Instructions Not Included”……. Well I’m not sure where to even begin??? You know, the original role was actually meant to cast a big, large tom boy bully!! Something that is an honor to me is that, they changed the role to match my look, they decided to do more of a, “mean, popular, girl look”….. My first day on set was almost surreal. I met everyone and instantly felt such a special feeling. Loreto is beyond kind and I loved hanging out with her!!! Eugenio is so extremely talented!!! The fact that I worked directly with Eugenio on this project is an experience that I get to carry with me the rest of my life! I attended my first red carpet premier because of this movie and I get to say that I was a part of a film that changed history!! I will always be great full to Eugenio for choosing me to be part of his film :))))

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with so far?

My favorite people to work with so far:

1. Ariana Grande (I played Kimberly on Sam and Cat) I was just in awe every time I looked at her.

2. Eugenio Derbez(instructions not included) He has brought me so many opportunities, I am part of a history making film, I’ve met so many amazing actors(Adam Sandler, Eva Longoria, Rob Snieder, etc.) because of Eugenio 🙂

3. Jennette McCurdy (Sam and Cat) Jennette treated me as an equal, she was probably the nicest celebrity I have ever met!!!! She made it a point to compliment me and be nice! I really think she is AMAZING!!!!

4. Al Pacino (I am a dancer in the new film Danny Collins) Oh my Gosh!!! He is a very funny guy!!!! My friend Olivia Gonzales and I sang the song with him from, “Jack and Jill”..,… “What’s my Name??? Dunk a Chino”!!! He thought it was so funny that we knew the movie and joked around with us 🙂

5. Jenna Ortega (Richie Rich, I played Lacey) well…… I will never forget that both Jenna and I showed up to set wearing the exact same outfit!!!!! LOL!!!!! Phil Lewis (Mr. Moseby) who was the director did not believe that it was a coincidence!! But it really was 🙂

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

My favorite project to work on so far is, “instructions not included” 🙂

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I have to say that through all this hard work, dedication, endless time on the freeways and having “thick skin”. I would never take anything back. People don’t realize what it takes to have this career, it is not overnight success or easy at all!! I’ve chosen to do this because I LOVE it!!! The friends I’ve made and the experience I’ve had are beyond what words can describe! I’m living my dream and will continue to do so as long as God allows me to.

We’d like to thank Laura for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
