Gia Poeme played the role of Bella Fisher on The Young and the Restless. More recently she has been busy with modeling and commercial work for companies including Blue Bunny, Aurora, and Wee Monster. She also plays the role of Nora Liverpool in the short Retribution.
1. How has auditioning changed for you now that you’re older?
It’s definitely changed! I work with my coach but I make decisions on my own as well about the character. That has been really fun!
2. What was the best part about getting to attend the premiere for Retribution?
So many of my friends and family were there! I did the film with a close friend as well so it just felt really awesome to get to have this big party with so many awesome people and see ourselves on the big screen!
3. How did you prepare for your role in the film? Is there anything you can share about your character?
The character is really strong but quiet. She overcomes her fear and ends up being the hero. I really was able to work off of the other amazing actors I was shooting with. The director and producers also helped me develop my character!
4. What was your shoot for Aurora like?
Super fun! The shot that they ended up using was me running around laughing in this big modern house – pure joy!
5. Do you have a favorite location you’ve been able to work on recently?
I love being by the water and travel! I did a shoot for the launch of a new resort and that was so fun and beautiful. They had the whole resort closed off so we had it all to ourselves. Swam in the pool, stayed in the suite, ate in the restaurant. Like my own private getaway!
6. How did you enjoy filming your biOrb commercial? What was it like working with fish?
The fish are troopers 🤣 I fell in love with my little fish – I was sad to leave him 🥹
7. What was the best part of being a part of the Blue Bunny/Glam Your Fam promotion?
Attending the event at the Grove! There were so many people there so happy to be part of the event and the ice cream of course only added to the fun!
8. What was your shoot for Wee Monster like?
I love wee monster clothing. The owners are so kind and creative and I have been wearing their clothing since my first campaign with them 4 years ago! I love supporting female owned, Los Angeles brands! The shoot was so fun! All the kids were really into it so we had a really good time creating the summertime resort vibe that you got to see!
9. Do you have a favorite part of modeling?
I love interacting and lifestyle shoots where I can play off others!
10. What would you like to happen career wise in 2024?
I’m really enjoying diving into film! More details on that coming later! I have also expanded into voice over which has been so fun since my Dad is a musician and has his own recording studio. It’s something we have fun doing together!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
That I am thankful for this interview with Star Kidz and you Lisa! Wishing all my fellow artists and families a wonderful Holiday and prosperous New Year!
