2014 – Leilani Brosnan

 

Leilani Brosnan filmed an episode of The Neighbors during their first season. This year she has been seen for Old Navy, Target, appeared in a music video for Robin Thicke, and much more! To keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook.

 

1. How did you enjoy filming your episode of The Neighbors?

It was great fun working on The Neighbors because I got to dribble a basketball across the court over and over! Plus it was one of the nicest production teams and crews I have ever met. They even let my Mom watch me on the monitor while I was on set.

2. What was it like working on Modern Family?

I have worked on Modern Family several times but my favorite time was the episode that featured a gymnastics competition and we got to play at the gym all day.

3. What was your favorite part about working on Deadtime Stories?

Deadtime Stories was a lot of fun. We shot it in downtown LA in the early morning and sat on the curb in the freezing cold and had breakfast from the food truck. My favorite part of filming was jumping out of the closet and scaring the babysitter played by Jennifer Stone from “Wizards of Waverly Place”!!!

4. How cool was it getting to be in Robin Thicke’s video for “Still Madly Crazy”?

The competition to be in the Robin Thicke video “Still Madly Crazy” was fierce and he picked all the kids himself from thousands of submissions, then hundreds auditioning and lastly the callbacks! Such an honor. The whole day shooting with Robin directing was so fun but the best part of the day was the cake fight at the end and Robin joined us for that too.

5. What was it like working with Will Ferrell at the MTV Movie Awards?

I felt a little shy going on stage with Will Ferrell who played my fake Dad for the MTV Movie Awards with all those people in the audience watching. It really helped that there were two other kids going up there with me. I met Will a second time when I was in a birthday party scene for a Dodge Durango commercial that he starred in.

6. How did you enjoy shooting for Old Navy?

The Old Navy shoot told place in Marin County in Northern California and the locations were amazing. The first house in Bolinas Bay had a huge, huge lawn outside that went down a big hill so all of us kids could play out there between shots. In my favorite shot for the campaign we created artwork and made drawings so it didn’t feel like work at all.

7. What was the best part of working on Germany’s Next Top Model?

The best part of working on Germany’s Next Top Model was tying up the models when I was dressed as an Indian and then another scene was the pillow fight and then later throwing cake and whipped cream all over them…imagine how fun that was for us but not them for sure!! I was also chosen to go in the morning and wake up the models before the actual shoot and that was a special honor. But of course nothing compared to meeting and working with Heidi Klum for the first time and taking photos with her at the end of the day!!!

8. How did you like working on The Avengers?

We filmed our scene for The Avengers movie past downtown LA on a railroad track. They created all kinds of smoke and had the train go back and forth over and over as we kids ran around. There were lots of kids in the scene. However, in the end the whole scene was cut from the movie and I was the only one in the final edit. It just shows my face in a TV screen at the end holding up the hammer. The fun part of the day was throwing this hammer made of a stick and bottle on the ground over and over. It was a very hot day. The interesting part of this shoot was that even during the audition and callback and reporting to the job…we never knew it was The Avengers movie until we were actually shooting the scene since it had a code name. Lucky us for being picked for that one!!!

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?

My favorite people to work with are the other child actors. And it’s even better when you get to work with kids you already know. It doesn’t happen that often but for me that’s the best part of the job – OH! and going to Craft Services – I love that part too!!!

10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

I guess my favorite job is always the last one I did since I can’t remember them all. So in this case, my favorite was the one I did a few days ago which was a commercial for Centrum vitamins. There were lots of kids working that day and our calltime was Noon but then they didn’t need us until 5pm so we had a lot of time to play even though we had to put in our three hours of school time. Then on set they gave us lots of art supplies to make drawings and projects for the scene. That was so fun most of us didn’t want to wrap at the end!!!My Mom’s favorite shoot was ‘Story of the Gun’ – which was a short film to promote the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes movie. You can Youtube it and see me about 8 1/2 minutes in….my best acting role so far and so fun shooting on a location outside of LA for a change.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would like to add that it’s always a pleasure to be picked for a job with so much competition and so much talent in LA. So I want to thank everyone for their support, encouragement and compliments. I don’t have that many fans yet but I also want to thank the ones I do have from Facebook who live in Canada, Ireland, England and Germany – they have sent me cards, made videos and always remember my birthday. That is so special and mean a lot to me as a beginning artist.
