Alexander, Benjamin, and Caleb Eckstein took over the role of Spike Lavery on All My Children in July 2007. They were quickly seeing a lot of screen time as their character was involved in a kidnapping storyline which led into a long term one with Spike’s loss of hearing. As the focus on that storyline wrapped they were frequently on set for episodes throughout their run, minus one or two periods of little to no airtime. As they grew up with the character, the boys were soon given their own lines in scenes, and were involved in a storyline that saw Spike’s mother Kendall (Alicia Minshew) hiding out in their family home to be close to the family while on the run. Alex, Ben, and Caleb appeared in over a hundred episodes of the soap before they exited the role due to the show’s move to Los Angeles for production. They last aired in Janaury 2010.

Career Highlights

Alexander, Benjamin and Caleb Eckstein began acting in 2007 when their mother saw a casting call floating around a multiples group she was a member of which asked for twin boys with brown hair and blue eyes. Knowing she not only had two, but three boys matching the description she decided to submit them and they booked that casting, which was All My Children. The boys began auditioning for other roles as well, now having an agent, and they booked the film Ghost Town as well as a series of videos for Diaper Genie with their family. Alex, Ben, and Caleb have also been seen on Ugly Betty and did multiple episodes of Boardwalk Empire as Sonny Capone, son of infamous Al Capone.

Current Updates

Alex, Ben, and Caleb remained in the industry for a short while after leaving All My Children, but would audition time to time for the next several years despite not being fully in the business anymore, as their younger sister began working actively. During this time they were seen in an episode of The Blacklist, which was their last on screen appearance in 2019. There have been no public updates since as the boys moved into their teen years.
