2016 – Sofia Naccarato

1. What was your time on set like filming your Dish Network commercials?

It was a lot of fun, but also a LOT of work. There was a lot of physical comedy, and just getting around in those pants was tricky. We were tired and sweating after filming each day.

2. Do you have a favorite one that you worked on?

We shot all 3 dish spots in one week. I think the one where we all had to walk in the pants together was super fun.

3. What was the best part of filming your Walmart commercial?

Eating all the watermelon! I love watermelon and I think we went through two entire large ones.

4. How did you enjoy working for Dick’s Sporting Goods back to school ads?

That was great because it was shot mostly outdoors at a school that is actually really close to my house. Playing basketball with Zaire (the boy in the ads with me) was great – he’s really good!

5. Which do you enjoy to work on more theatrical, commercial or print?

I am really lucky to be able to do all of it, but my absolute love is live theatre.

6. Do you have a favorite play you’ve been able to work on?

This season I am playing Laura Ingalls in the Sierra Madre Playhouse production of A Little House Christmas. It’s been an amazing experience.

7. What was a typical day like rehearsing for A Little House Christmas?

We rehearsed 6 days a week in the evenings for about 8 weeks. It was very professional and I learned a lot from the director, Alison Kalmus.

8. What was opening night like?

It was exciting and a little nerve-wracking because it was the first time that I knew there would be critics in the audience.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

I have been so blessed to have worked on a bunch of projects with amazing people. The entire Little House cast and crew have become like a second family. I also really enjoyed working with Justine Renee on her short film, Beyond Approval.

10. What has been your favorite project to do this year and why?

Little House has been probably the most difficult work but also the most rewarding because it’s live theatre – there’s just nothing quite like performing for a different audience week to week and seeing how the show grows into something just a little different each time.
