2012 – Victoria Grace

 

Victoria Grace appeared in the holiday concert episode of The Young and the Restless last year. She has worked on several short films including Made in China, done many commercials for big name companies such as Subway and even appeared in a music video for Kelly Clarkson! She’s currently working on Nickelodeon’s Deadtime Stories and shot a commercial for Hyundai. To keep up to date, make sure to visit her page on Facebook!

1. How did you get started in the industry?

My mom breeds and shows Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. When I was six years old – a film crew from “America’s Most Pampered Pets” came out to our house to put our dogs in an episode of the show. My mom kept my older sister and I home so that we could be in the show too. The Producers and Director told my mom that I would be perfect for a tv pilot that they were about to shoot. So – my first job was in a sit-com pilot with Ben Jones from the original Dukes of Hazzard.

2. Do you have a favorite commercial you’ve done?

That would have to be the ones that I did for Movies on Demand in 2010. They were called “Awards Season” and I was the only person in the commercials. I sat at a table and had a tea party with dolls and stuffed animals and made funny remarks about the upcoming Emmy awards. I had my own teacher and wardrobe assistant, and I got to keep any of the toys that I wanted when the shoot was over! It was really fun.

3. What was it like filming for The Young and the Restless?

The Young and the Restless was my first singing role. My audition was to sing the Christmas Song “Joy to the World”. It was exciting because the Music Director held onto me after my audition and so everyone else that came in after me had to audition by singing with me. The cast was so nice, I had a great time.

4. How did you enjoy working with Jill Larson and Melissa Claire Egan in The Art of Losing?

Actually, The Young Playwright’s Festival was an event where every night three winning plays were showcased. The play that I was in was called “Scrapbook”. Jill and Missy were in the play The Art Of Losing that went on every night before mine – but we shared a dressing room and a lot of great conversations.

5. What was the experience like working on Kelly Clarkson’s music video?

I had the best time on set. Shooting my three spots in the video was something that I did alone with the Director and his crew while Kelly got ready. But, afterwards – Kelly came out of her trailer looking for me and she gave me a big hug. Her limo driver asked me to sing her song “Mr. Know it All” to her – so I did and Kelly immediately joined in and sang harmony! The experience is something that I will never forget. Kelly is very kind and down to earth.

6. Do you have a favorite segment you’ve done for Kids React To?

Working with the Fine Brothers was fun. They show you viral videos and then ask you questions about what you saw. Some of the kids that they film are very opinionated and say the wildest things. I was always taught to be “politically correct” and didn’t want to say anything bad about anyone, LOL.

7. What have been some of the funniest moments to happen on set?

Filming E! The Soup was funny. My character had to get on a see-saw with a grown man pretending to be a kid. The minute he sat down, there was this dummy of me – my size, my hair color and length and dressed exactly like me – that flew off of the see-saw and into the mud on her face! Watching the crew throw up the dummy likeness of me was so funny but I had to scream like I was scared at the same time! They let me keep my outfit and shoes too!

8. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with so far?

I have had the pleasure of working with some fantastic directors. In the film Body of Lies, I worked with Ridley Scott. Director David Hillenbrand of Nickelodeon’s Deadtime Stories was amazing to work with. As for actors, one of my favorites to work with is Kevin Farley (brother of the late Chris Farley). He is so nice and SO funny. Sometimes when the Director yelled “cut” – we all doubled over in laughter.

9. How did you feel when you found out you were cast for a new Nickelodeon show?

Thrilled! I was excited about the project from the beginning, my role (Bree Daniels) is awesome. The fact that the series was picked up by Nickelodeon was the icing on the cake! The Deadtimes Stories are creepy fun and I loved every minute of shooting it!

10. What has been your favorite project to work on?

Deadtime Stories for sure! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Annette and Gina Cascone are fantastic writers and I am so thrilled to be a part of their dream!
