Raymond and Jospeh Cartigiano took over the role of Miranda Montgomery (then Bess Chandler) on All My Children in 2004 not long after the character was born. They were well known to the fans by their happy presence and could be found calm and smiling in many episodes. They were involved in the big baby switch storyline that carried out between All My Children and One Life to Live in a crossover, which saw them playing JR (Jacob Young) and Babe’s (Alexa Havins) believed daughter Bess. They filmed the big reveal when Babe told Bianca (Eden Riegel) that Bess was really her daughter Miranda, and the boys soon found themselves working with a new set of cast members on the show. Unfortunately their on screen mom ended up leaving town taking Miranda with her.

During their time on All My Children they got to film on location twice, which was rare for the soap, let alone for one of the kids to get to be involved in the filming. They went to Los Angeles for the show’s 35th Anniversary to work with legendary comedian and actress Carol Burnett, and they also travelled to the Bahamas to film Erica (Susan Lucci) and Jack’s (Walt Willey) wedding when they were brought back to film the wedding episodes. Sadly, the time came where as the character got older boys could no longer fill the position as a girl infant and Raymond and Joseph had to be let go. The next time Miranda was seen they had recast with a young actress.

Current Updates

Raymond and Joseph did not stay in the industry after wrapping their run on All My Children. They both found a passion for hockey, a sport they have continued to play competitively into their teenage years and adulthood.
