Alexa Gerasimovich originated the role of Kathy Martin (then Mershon) on All My Children in late December 2006 when her character showed up at the hospital after her parents were killed in a car crash on their way into town to visit Julia Santos (Sydney Penny). She appeared in several episodes as Kathy was taken in by Julia, and was woven into the canvas. Those ties strengthened when it was revealed that Kathy was the daughter of Tad (Michael E. Knight) and Dixie Martin (Cady McClain). Alexa continued in the role until January 2010, as the show moved production to Los Angeles.

All My Children was not Alexa’s first role in daytime. She previously played Natalie Snyder on As the World Turns earlier in 2006. She appeared in multiple episodes before the role was recast.

Career Highlights

Alexa started modelling and doing commercial work as an infant. At six months old she booked a commercial for GAP and was featured on the cover of Parents Magazine. It was in 2006 when she booked her first theatrical role with the film World Trade Centre, which she filmed in both New Jersey and California. In addition to appearing in daytime, she was in the films Bella and 27 Dresses and episode of Dirty Sexy Money.

Current Updates

She did some print work as well, including a GAP campaign with her younger sisters Ashley and Erin. While they both remained active in the industry into their teen years, Alexa did not continue to pursue acting, and while not much has been public since. Stars Say

    • “They act more mature for their age (4) than he ever remembered being. And they have this cute habit of calling us by our character names. [recalling his Del having eaten Kathy’s chocolate cake in a scene] Alexa saw me the other day and said, ‘Hey, are you Del?’ I said, ‘Yep!’ She said, ‘You ate my cake!’ It was so funny.”- Alec Musser, Soap Opera Digest
    • “I love Alexa, who plays Kathy; she is so sweet.”- Chrishell Stause, Soap Opera Digest
    • “Emma and Kathy have dialogue together sometimes and I’m like, ‘How do they do that? They’re 4!They totally don’t act like 4-year olds.”- Melissa Claire Egan, Soap Opera Digest
    • “Lexi loves working with me, so she’s all over me like a little ferrett. We have to tell her ‘No, you’re not quite there yet, honey.’ For a 6-year-old, she’s really amazing. There are a couple of things Ive done with her where I was just stunned that she was so well-focused and concentrated.”- Michael E. Knight, Soap Opera Weekly
    • “Oh she is fantasic. She is adorable. Lexi’s got more energy than any 5 adults put together. The one thing we have to reminder her is, cause there’s all these toys that are on the set and she loves them. We have to reminder her, ‘okay Lexi its pretend play’. Now Ive been doing this a long time and this kid constantly does stuff that surprises me. I remember that we were doing a scene in the chapel after Tad finds out Kathy is his. And I remember asking her something, umm I forgot what the question was, something about calling me daddy, and the kids reaction was just so different and so unexpected. The thing about Lexi is that she actually will listen to you while your acting with her she’s not necessarily saying a line. Yeah sometimes we get her to make sure she knows her cue and stuff. I actually think this kid is going to turn out to be a really great actress.”- Michael E. Knight, StarDish Radio
