Lucy Merriam

Lucy Merriam originated the role of Emma Lavery (then McDermott) on All My Children in 2006 with the character’s arrival in Pine Valley alongside her mother Annie (Melissa Claire Egan). At just four years old upon her debut she was soon given dialogue and emotional material to play out as Emma, delivering with with believable emotion as her character was removed from her home by social services. Throughout her years on the soap Lucy continued to receive in depth dialogue, storylines, and emotional material, delivering impressive performances at such a young age. After over two hundred episodes as Emma Lavery, Lucy last aired in January 2010, due to the show moving production to Los Angeles.

Career Highlights

Lucy’s first experience in the industry was as a model at six months old with a shoot for Fisher Price in January 2003, and she continued to model throughout her career with jobs for Half Moon Bay Resort, United Colors of Benetton, Macy’s, and Pillsbury, to name a few. She also appeared on television programs such as The View and Fox Morning News for Kea + Joby, a children’s clothing line by her All My Children co-star Cameron Mathison and his then wife. She did multiple commercials as well, however only appeared on camera for Leap Frog. In 2008 Lucy was seen as the daughter of Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston in the movie adaptation of Marley & Me, playing Colleen Grogan.

Current Updates

When Lucy’s time on All My Children wrapped, she continued in the industry with a couple of modelling projects before leaving the industry all together. While not much else is public since this time, it has been noted that she has been very involved in pursuing areas of higher study and working on global and human rights and issues.
