2015 – Asher and Brayden McDonell

 

Asher and Brayden McDonell played the role of Connor Newman on The Young and The Restless. This year the boys were busy filming several commercials including Kingsman and Total Wireless. To keep up to date make sure to follow them on Twitter and Instagram.

 

1. How did Asher and Brayden get started in the industry?

Their cousin, Everleigh McDonell, is a little older and had an agent, so their Aunt did some research to get them with a really good agency.

2. Is there a way to tell the boys apart?

They’re identical but they are mirror-image twins; for example, their cowlicks are on opposite sides, etc. We can tell them apart by their different personalities, voices, temperaments and senses of humor.

3. What was it like for them to film their Kingsman commercial?

It was a fun day. We were on set all day because they had split call times. The people at production couldn’t have been any nicer. Brayden was suspended in front of a green screen to make it look like he was hanging over the fridge. That was pretty funny.

4. What was the experience like for Asher and Brayden to work on their Total Wireless commercial?

It was cool because they built them a custom, tricked out stroller. They needed their exact measurements to build it specifically for them. Grandma was happy because the food on set was amazing!

5. How did you feel when the boys got cast on The Young and the Restless?

It was very exciting to be a part of such a long running show.

6. What was their time on set like?

The show is run very efficiently so the boys weren’t on set very long.

7. What was the experience like working with Catherine Bach?

It was a very cool experience for Asher and Brayden, even though they were too young to realize they were meeting an icon.

8. How did Asher and Brayden like working with Burgess Jenkins?

They really liked him. He was very good with the boys.

9. Is there anything you can share about their role on Shameless?

We can’t share much, as their episodes have not yet aired. On set, they are referred to as Baby Yevi; they’re playing the role of Yevgeny Milkovich, who is the son of Svetlana and Mickey. I am actually writing from the Shameless set as we speak!

10. Do you have a favorite project that they’ve worked on so far?

The boys are very lucky that they have gotten so many great jobs. Kings Hawaiian and Total Wireless were really fun and the boys were catered to because they were the starring role in the project.
