2016 – Holden and Ryan Hare

 

Ryan and Holden Hare play the role of Johnny Abbott on The Young and the Restless. This year they have been very busy on the soap and to keep up to date make sure to keep checking back here at the site.

 

1. What was the first day on set for Y&R like?

Our first day on set was almost 5 years ago and it was the day “baby Johnny” was being born!! The set nurse who was wonderful put warm yogurt on the boys for the birth scene and the boys smiled through the whole thing!

2. How does it get decided who films which scenes?

Usually we switch back and fourth each episode but they love the episodes that they get to eat snacks and treats in so we definitely have to make sure they alternate those scenes!

3. How did they enjoy filming the Halloween episode?

They love the Halloween episode every year…lots of candy and lots of other kids to play with on set!

4. What is it like filming with Jason Thompson?

Jason is awesome with the boys! They definitely feel comfortable with him and he knows how to keep the scene going when the boys decide to add their own lines or things to scenes that aren’t suppose to be there (which happens often with 4yr olds!) He’s a natural with kids!

5. How do Ryan and Holden enjoy working with Sienna Mercuri?

Holden and Ryan Love their TV sissy! They go into each other’s dressing rooms to play in between scenes!

6. What was it like filming with Sophie Pollono?

It’s been awhile but she was a great little actress!!

7. What is it like working with Eric Braeden?

The boys know him as their tv grandpa! He’s been doing this for years so he’s great when the kids are on set!

8. Do the boys have a favorite set to film on?

They always ask if they get to go to the coffeehouse…they have figured out that scenes at the coffeehouse means sitting at a table eating yummy snacks!

9. Have Ryan and Holden been recognized in public at all for playing Johnny?

Actually yes a few times! Out to dinner twice and once we were in line for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and some women approached us and said they recognized them as Johnny and were shocked that there were two of them…they always thought it was just one child!

10. Do the boys have a favorite episode they’ve gotten to film this year?

Ryan says “My favorite was when I got to eat the Ketchup and hotdog with Jason (tv dad) and the days when Aly (Faith) is there and when I got to brush my teeth in the scene!” Holden said his favorite was “Being with Amelia (tv mom), the thanksgiving dinner when I ate turkey and when I ate all the chocolate”
