Caroline Valencia is a young actress from New York. Recently she has been seen in multiple commercials and an episode of The Last O.G.!
1. What was your shoot for Target like?
Oh Target…I love you so…If you read this…Call me maybe? I can’t wait to go back! It’s always amazing to work with Target!
2. What do you like most about seeing your photos up in their stores?
It’s pretty weird to see myself up in a store. I love to see myself of course, but it’s a little strange. I’m this regular kid that happens to be in a giant photo at Target.
3. How different was it shooting for Carnation as it was a silent commercial?
I didn’t know it would be silent. I have done commercials where I don’t have lines, but there is always music or an announcer speaking-so it was unexpected to have complete silence. I thought it was my device when I first saw it! It wasn’t-there was just no sound! Another food commercial I did once was for Publix Ice Cream – I had way too much ice cream – no lines, but there was music and an announcer on the final commercial. I drank way too much Carnation instant breakfast on this commercial-but I couldn’t fake it. Part of the commercial was that the chocolate drink came up a curvy straw as I drank. After drinking, I smiled. I drank it over, and over, and over. I also did a print shoot the same day for Carnation, and I drank for that too! I only started drinking Chocolate milk again recently. I had to take a break!
4. How did you enjoy being a part of the new I Love NY campaign?
I loved being a part of a commercial for New York’s reopening after Covid. I love New York so much and I do a lot of stuff in the city. I was happy to encourage people to come back. I also happen to collect Lucky Cats. In the commercial – I stop in Chinatown to play with one. It was a coincidence – and I call it a lucky one!
5. What was the best part of filming your AT&T commercial?
The best part was doing a commercial after a long commercial dry spell! It was the first of four commercials that I shot this summer. It was super lucky – and I’ll tell you more a few questions later – but At&T is lucky for me. I did two commercials for AT&T, an English and a Spanish version shot on two separate days. It was my first Spanish language commercial.
6. What was the experience like working on The Last O.G.?
I loved working on the last OG. I love Shanice Williams and I worked in my scene with her. Mr. Carl Weathers was the director – you may know him as Apollo Creed from Rocky. He was very nice and calm. Tracy Morgan, of course, was the life of the party! Craft service was a Taco truck – so I was in heaven. The whole experience was awesome!
7. How did you enjoy working with Tracy Morgan?
Tracy Morgan shows up to set with a big boom box stereo and an entourage. It is outstanding and hilarious. He makes people laugh on the set all day and he was really fun to work with. I would love to go back!
8. Did you do anything special to celebrate your episode airing?
We were really low key on my Last OG viewing. It was kind of past my bedtime on a school night. Just shared some hot chocolate and popcorn with my sister!
9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with recently?
I loved all of the people that I worked with on LAND OF GOLD, my first feature film role! It was truly an amazing experience!
10. Is there anything you can share about your role in Land of Gold?
Here is where At&T comes in! Land of Gold The Film, won a million dollars to fund its making by the AT&T Untold Stories contest with Tribeca Film Festival. I met some AT&T executives when they visited the set in Oklahoma. It turns out they had seen my commercial and used it as a teaching tool for marketing and demographics! How small a world is it? I took it as a lucky sign that my planets are aligning! About my role – I can tell you that I am the co-lead. I play an undocumented Mexican American girl that stows away in the cab of a Punjabi Truck driver. I did some stunts, I speak a lot of Spanish in the movie and I sing in Spanish – all of which are firsts for me!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Yes! Look out for Land of Gold which will debut June 2022 at Tribeca Film festival and then make its way to HBO MAX! I’ve decided I really want to be an actress and I will be working with Disney as soon as possible. Disney-you listening?
