2021 – Rachel Samiri

Rachel Samiri is the older sister of Henry Samiri. She has worked on the films Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers, Lola James, and more!

1. How did you get started in the industry?
I got started acting when the pandemic happened and everything shut down. I couldn’t ice skate as often as I was prior to the shut down and there weren’t any competitions to train for. The agency wanted me to audition and I did. I’m back to ice skating quite a bit again and competitions have started up but I still like to audition, so I do them when I can.

2. Do you have any special skills you would love to incorporate into a project one day?
I would definitely love to do a movie with me ice skating! I can also horse back ride and jump so I would love to do a horse movie.

3. How did you prepare for performing in a local production of Disney’s The Lion King on Ice?
I prepared for The Lion King by practicing and having private lessons and we practiced as a group for weeks and months before the production.

4. Have your brothers ever given you any tips on acting?
My brothers don’t need to give me tips for acting. I know what I’m doing. I love performing and since my characters are girls they probably wouldn’t know how to help me anyway.

5. What was your time on set like filming Lola James?
I loved filming Lola James. Nicola Peltz is super nice and helpful. She’s really great and I feel lucky to have worked with her.

6. What was the experience like filming for Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers?
Filming Rescue Rangers was so much fun!! I made a lot of new friends and it was fun seeing how Chip N Dale were filmed with a green screen and the actors who portray them.

7. Were you familiar at all with the characters and films before doing the project?
Yes. I had books of them when I was little and I have seen the old cartoons of them.

8. What are your must haves to bring to set with you?
My school work, games, work permit and a book to read for fun.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with?
Everyone I work with is really fun. My brothers and I filmed a Ford commercial and we had the best time. I guess William and Henry have been my favorite.

10. Do you have a favorite project you have been a part of?
The projects I work on have been so different. I will say that the Ice Skating productions I have done have probably been my favorite since I am part of the main cast. Film and TV is great because I love being able to act like someone else.
