Star-Kidz

Phoenix Nicholson appeared on All My Children as Lucy Hubbard. After taking a little break he’s returned and has done several projects including commercials and films.

1. What do you like best about acting?
What I like best about acting is having the chance to step into another characters emotional life and energy. I love the challenge of doing that.

2. What is your earliest memory being on set?
My earliest memory on set is from being on set for a national commercial for Home Goods, I was like 4 1/2 yrs old.

3. Have you heard any stories about working on All My Children as a baby you can share?
The only story I remember my dad telling me about All My Children is that during the audition, the casting director took out a video camera to tape all the babies ( I was 3 months old) and he said as soon as they turned the camera on me I started smiling and laughing for the camera, and I was hired an hour later.

4. What did you enjoy most about filming your Home Depot commercials?
The best part about shooting the Home Depot commercial was just being on such a cool set that was set up like a winter wonderland, the crew and director were great, it was just an awesome time.

5. What was your time on set like filming The Door Across the Hall?
Shooting the door across the hall was a great project and it was really fun being on set. I just love being in front of the camera working and any chance I get to do it, I love.

6. How did you prepare for playing Thomas in Once Upon a Lifetime?
I read a lot about bullying and how it makes kids feel, because my character was being bullied at school. I’ve never experienced bullying myself luckily, but I did want to really understand how my character felt.

7. What was your first day on set like for the film? Your last day on set?
My first day the set of Once Upon a Lifetime I was excited because this was my first lead role in a feature film, so I was really anxious to get started. My last day on set I was feeling kind of sad because I didn’t want to stop filming, I’d gotten to know everyone on set from the cast and crew and really enjoyed everyone’s company. It’s always kind of a sad feeling the day a project wraps up.

8. How did you react seeing the movie poster when it came out?
I was thrilled to see the poster and my photo prominently displayed. I felt really proud to have been part of this project.

9. Do you have a favorite scene you did for the film?
My favorite scene in Once Upon a Lifetime is the scene where the character Joy and I are dancing in the rain. It was such a cool scene to shoot.

10. Is there anything you can share about Young Creed?
I have a few upcoming projects, one of them is out now on YouTube called Awkward Conversations. I loved this project because I got to work with David Dastmalchian from the Marvel movies who plays my dad and John Amos plays my grandfather. The other is a tv pilot I’m currently shooting “Young Creed” and another project I start shooting next month named “Free Lunch”.
