2021 – O’Neill Monahan

O’Neill Monahan played the role of Rocco Falconeri on General Hospital. More recently he has been seen in the film Let Us In, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and more!

1. What was your time on set like filming your Planet Oat commercial?
It was fun, especially working with Chacha and Amari. And it was the first time I had oat milk, so that was pretty cool.

2. What was the biggest challenge of doing virtual auditions?
The biggest challenge doing auditions virtually is not getting to meet people. Especially because it’s easier to show a director what you can do when you’re in the same room.

3. Do you audition for every Jimmy Kimmel episode you do or do you book you off of your previous ones now?
Mostly, they call my managers to see if I’m available, but sometimes they want me to record a quick video just to make sure I can do what they need. Cecelia and everyone at Kimmel are so awesome to work with that it’s always amazing when they call.

4. How did you enjoy filming your latest comedy skit for the show?
The sketch was really funny and getting to demolish that tree and those decorations was SUPER fun. I wish every job could be that crazy!

5. What was the casting process like for the film Let Us In?
We filmed Let Us In back in the summer of 2019, so I don’t remember a lot about the audition process. I remember meeting Makenzie the first day of filming, and being really nervous.

6. What was your experience like working on the film?
It was my first real movie experience, and it was amazing! I feel like I learned so much. Between my scenes my dad kept wanting to go back to the trailer, but I just wanted to watch everyone working behind the scenes. The different department heads let me see how they worked, and it was the best.

7. How did you enjoy working with Makenzie Moss?
Makenzie is super kind, really funny and awesome to work with. She made every scene feel easy. I learned a lot from her about focus and the magic of Nutella at craft services.

8. What did you do to watch the film when it came out?
There was a viewing for cast and crew at a place near UCLA, so I got to watch it with all the people who helped make it. A week later, I got to show it to my baseball team while we were at a tournament in San Diego. That was cool too.

9. What was your favorite scene you got to do for the film?
My favorite scene was the one where we meet Mr. Munch (Tobin Bell), and it was a very eerie house and an eerie scene, which I really enjoyed. He’s a legend. And super intense.

10. Do you have any career goals for 2022?
I don’t really know. I feel lucky to have gotten to do so many cool things, and I guess I just hope I can do more. Maybe another movie role? I’m just waiting to see what my future holds.
