2014 – Mackenzie Aladjem

 

Mackenzie Aladjem played Miranda on AMC and also appeared in episodes of Parenthood and Passions. This year she’s been busy filming the final season of Nurse Jackie and to keep up to date make sure to like her page on Facebook and follow her on Twitter.

 

1. What is it like to be back on the Nurse Jackie set for the final season?

I am so excited being back at work with everyone-they are all so sweet. It is a fun environment, but I am sometimes sad that this will be the last season. I find myself thinking “Will this be the last time we…….?” Trying to enjoy every moment!

2. How did you react when you heard this would be the last season for Nurse Jackie?

I was very upset. There were definitely some tears! My Mom told me about it being the last season at 5am, at the airport, on our way to NYC for filming. It is so crazy to think this is the last year.

3. How much fun was it filming the wedding episode on Nurse Jackie?

It was a blast! It was my first wedding, so it was fun going for the fitting and trying on these really beautiful dresses by Morgan LeFay. My character always wears neon bright tights and playful clothes, so it was a nice change. The wedding was filmed at a place with a lot of windows. It was beautiful looking out at Manhattan with a beautiful sunset!

4. What is your favorite part of attending red carpet events?

Hard to say-I love the preparation-shopping for something nice to wear. It is also great hanging with friends in the business and meeting new people. I really like attending the charity events. It is nice to have a good time while also helping out.

5. What is the best part about attending The Young Artist Awards?

I loved seeing friends and hanging out with everyone. I was able to present an award, so that was exciting!

6. How did you feel when you won your award?

It was a weird and exciting experience. I was really young and fairly overwhelmed!

7. What was the experience like working with Marion Ross on Sweet Surrender?

She was so kind and funny. She was telling me stories about her days on HAPPY DAYS.

8. How did you enjoy working with Erika Christensen on Parenthood?

She is really fun to work with. Anytime I start work on a new project I get a little nervous. She has such a big heart-she made feel right at home.

9. What was the best part of doing ADR for The Little Rascals Save the Day?

It was a fun day. The recording studio was close to home. We spent 3 hours at school and the rest of the day recording. I made some new friends that day and worked with some old friends.

10. What will you miss most about working on Nurse Jackie?

Oh man, there is going to be so much to miss! First of all-the people, I LOVE everyone. Edie and Dominic are the best screen parents, ever! So fun and loving. All the other cast members who I have worked with and alongside throughout the seasons. Everyone on the crew-so hard working and amazing-especially the different PA’s we have had throughout the seasons, who have helped wrangle Ruby and I! Most of all Ruby. She has gone from being my “big sister” to one of my “best friends”. I had my first audition for the show at 7 and I will wrap the show as a teenager! Crazy! Something I love a lot about this insane/wonderful experience is living in NYC for a quarter of the year. I LOVE Broadway. I have loved it ever since I played Molly in The National Tour of Annie when I was 7. Someday, I hope to be on Broadway! One cool thing about filming in NYC is that we have a lot of guest stars on the show from Broadway. It is going to be really strange being in LA this time next year, instead of NYC. It is going to be so hard to say good-bye to everyone but I am so, so, so thankful for the experience!
