2015 – Eden McCoy

1. What was your first booking and what was it like going to set for the first time?

My first booking was a commercial for an Olivia the Pig toy- I only had one line so it was easy but I was still very nervous since I had never been on a set before. Everyone was super nice though and the toy that we got to play with was really cool – it was a dollhouse that turned into a pirate ship!

2. What was your time on set like working on your Mattel commercial?

Working at Mattel is always a great time! It’s pretty close to where I live, and the sets are super cool with lots of toys and games that haven’t come out yet. The crew is really nice and they make us laugh while we are working. There’s a Barbie store in the building too!

3. How did you enjoy walking the runway at LA Style Fashion Week?

This was my 3rd time walking for Nancy Vuu and I love it so much! Her gowns are out of this world and the hair and makeup are like a fantasy! I’m always a little nervous right before i go out on the runway because it’s live and in front of so many fashion people and experts, and I want to make sure I’m walking in the best way to show the beautiful clothes. But there is so much positive energy backstage and the girls are all super supportive of each other – it’s one of my favorite nights!

4. What is the experience like taking the stage for the Los Angeles Opera?

Ok that was the most nervous I have ever been performing. First of all it’s live, and the audience is filled with super cultured people who know all about opera, and I was being conducted by Placido Domingo who is a legend so there was a lot of pressure! One night I saw that the actor Michael Sheen who plays Aro from Twilight was in the audience and I was so excited I forgot to be nervous for a minute. Also I had the very best vocal teacher named Jeremy Frank who taught me the Italian lyrics and how to best project my voice.

5. How did you prepare yourself for your performances?

I worked with Jeremy 3-4 times a week training for months before the Opera started. It was intense and I learned so much. He is a great teacher and was very patient with me (I didn’t know any Italian), and it was the most special experience that I will always be grateful for.

6. What was the audition process like for the role of Josslyn?

I felt a connection with the character from the very first audition. The casting director didn’t tell me exactly what role I was auditioning for…just that it was a young girl who is very honest and always says what’s on her mind no matter what, and who loves her mom very much. So I could relate to those things. She also has a “sassy” side that’s fun to play! The process took several weeks because there were a lot of great young actresses auditioning – but I screamed out loud when I found out I got it!

7. How did you like filming Carly and Sonny’s wedding?

It was beautiful!! Everyone was all dressed up and looking gorgeous, there were flowers and candles everywhere, and all the characters were smiling and happy and emotional! Laura Wright who plays Carly was glowing and looked so stunning in her wedding dress!

8. What was it like meeting Laura Wright for the first time?

She is the nicest lady and the most talented actress – wow she blows me away! When I watch her as Carly, it’s like she actually becomes that character and you get swept away in it and forget that she’s not really Carly in real life! She was so kind to me and funny on my first day and made me feel like i was a part of her family. I feel so lucky that I get to have her as my TV mom!

9. Is there anyone on the show you’re hoping to get a chance to work with?

I am honored to work with any of the GH actors – and the writers always write the most exciting and interesting stories! It would be fun to have new scenes with all my new “brothers and sisters” Michael, Morgan, Dante, Kristina and Avery, and to spend more time with Carly and Sonny – Josslyn really seems to love them as a couple!

10. Outside of GH, what has been your favorite show to be on?

The Thundermans and Game Shakers were both way too much fun – it didn’t even seem like work! I made such great friends on both shows – we stay in touch and always talk about how we can’t wait to work together again!
