2016 – Jonathan Tysor

1. What was your experience like filming A Doggone Christmas?

I love being on set filming and it was awesome to see some of the cast from Nessie & Me again. I also made some new friends. There are some fun scenes in this movie and we sure had fun filming it. I’m part of a group of kids who tries to save this awesome and very special dog and we get chased by special agents using a drone and helicopter. In one scene we all biked down this big, grassy hill – I think my mom closed her eyes when we filmed that scene. There’s also this really cool treehouse in the movie. Well, I don’t want to give away too much…go see it, it’s out on DVD and on iTunes now!

2. How did you enjoy your shoot for Old Navy?

This year I’ve done four shoots for Old Navy – two in San Francisco, one in LA in a studio and one on location in Malibu. I love working with them and always have a blast with their wranglers, studio teachers and crew. One of my SF shoots was for two days so I got to stay at a hotel and hang out a little in the city which is always cool.

3. What is it like seeing your image up in stores?

It’s pretty cool 🙂

4. What was your Lands’ End shoot like?

It was cold! The theme was summer camp but we shot it in January at one of the movie ranches in Santa Clarita. The photographer, Daymion Mardel had to wear a wetsuit and was in the lake for a canoe photo. I also got to test to shoot a bow and arrow at that job. As you can see from the images it was a lot of goofiness and fun going on! My kind of day!

5. How did you enjoy filming your Target commercial?

Filming the Target commercial felt very cartoonish, like I was in a Dr. Seuss book on the set! Everything was covered in paper.

6. What was the best part of shooting your Mini Maven editorial?

That was a while ago (last year). Love the photographer, Zoe Berkovic. This was out in the desert in Twenty Nine Palms and all western themed. I got to wear some pretty awesome clothes and it was cool to make the cover!

7. What was your time on set like filming Nessie & Me?

This was my first feature film experience. We filmed up in Santa Clarita at a big ranch there last December. Definitely a fun time and I made some awesome friends on set. I also got to eat glazed donuts for breakfast 🙂

8. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

I’ve worked with so many cool people this year. The returning cast and crew from Nessie & Me and the Doggone Movies are awesome and have become friends.

9. What has been your favorite project to do this year and why?

The Doggone movies and one of the San Francisco Old Navy shoots.

10. Is there anything you can share about your upcoming film A Doggone Hollywood?

I had to learn how to yo-yo for this role, something I didn’t know before but have become pretty good at! My favorite scene is probably the zip line adventure. A lot of it was filmed on green screen but it was still awesome. I still managed to yo-yo while zip-lining and holding a big cake box! I also got to eat a lot of pies and sweets (props)!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I started middle school this year (7th grade) and one of my electives is of course drama. I’m in the school production of Annie where I play Mr. Bundles (as well as a few other roles). This year I’ve also filmed for Hot Wheels, in addition to Nessie & Me and the two Doggone movies I also had a small part in another feature film.
