Rowan Smyth worked on a holiday episode of Days of Our Lives. This year he has been seen on the series W/ Bob and David, and has multiple projects in the works. To keep up to date make sure to keep checking back here at the site.
1. How did you get started in the industry?
My sister actually started doing print and commercials when she was a baby and I told my mom it looked fun and wanted to try.
2. What was your experience like working on Days of Our Lives?
It was a new experience for me and it was a lot of fun.
3. What was your time on set like filming your World Cup promo?
It was easy and fun. They gave me a USA Soccer jersey which was cool.
4. How did you enjoy working with Alexi Lalas?
It was a good experience because it was rare for me to work with an athlete.
5. What was the best part about working on South Park?
I liked being funny and seeing all of the posters of the characters. They gave us a tour of the headquarters and we got to see how they put everything together.
6. How did you react to seeing yourself on the cover of L.A. Parent Magazine?
It was very exciting and I thought it was pretty awesome.
7. What was your time on set like filming your MessageHub commercial?
I really liked the director and we shot for 2 days which was fun. They let me keep my astronaut helmet, which is still in my room.
8. What was your shoot for your Modern Family episode like?
That was my first time on set for a TV show. It was fun and everyone was really nice.
9. How did you enjoy filming with Jesse Tyler Ferguson?
He was hilarious and it was hard not to laugh during the scene.
10. Is there anything you can share about your upcoming film The ROLE Model?
It is still in pre-production but I cannot wait until we start shooting.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I shot 3 feature films this year. I can’t really talk about them yet but they were amazing experiences for me. One of my favorite shoots in 2015 was with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross for their new Netflix show “With Bob and David”. I had a lead role in one of the sketches and I got to work with some awesome comedians. I ended the year shooting a big commercial campaign that will come out in January. It’s top secret too but it is going to be hilarious.
We’d like to thank Rowan for participating in this year’s Holiday Q&A Event!
