Emmersyn Fiorentino is a young actress from the Los Angeles area. She is best known for her role in the Netflix series A Little Help with Carol Burnett and has done episodes of Liv and Maddie, Good Girls, Bizaardvark and more!
1. How did you get started acting and do you remember your very first audition? Very first booking?
I got started in the business because I had a friend that was in a Disney Jr. commercial, and I wanted to do it too. I was 4.5 years old. My parents got me an agent and I booked the very first audition I ever went on, which was a commercial for Care Bears.
2. What was your favorite part about working on Liv and Maddie?
My favorite part of being on Liv & Maddie was that I got to be on my very favorite TV show and work with Dove Cameron. She was so sweet and when I visited set a year later, she still remembered my name!
3. How do you enjoy getting to attend Mattel’s Party on the Pier?
Party on the Pier is one of my FAVORITE events of the year. It is so much fun! I love riding the roller coaster and Ferris wheel with my mom. You get to work in a game booth, and then go play the games and win prizes. I love playing the games because even if you lose, you get to pick a toy! I save all of my toys for holiday toy drives at Christmas time. I love being able to donate bags of toys to kids who need them. And best of all the event supports Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
4. What was the best part of working on the pilot for Good Girls?
It was really fun. I made new friends, which I still keep in contact with today, and I got to hang out in a grocery store all day long. Unfortunately, the original star of the show was replaced and they had to re-shoot many parts of the pilot. My entire scene was with that actress, so sadly my part never aired.
5. Do you have a preference between working on television shows or films?
Not really. Television shows are more predictable I think and you go to the same studio everyday, or at least I did. But films take you to different locations, like parks, schools, and grocery stores.
6. What was the casting process like for A Little Help with Carol Burnett?
LONG. I had my first audition in the beginning of April and my final audition (which is called a producer’s session) in August. I had seven auditions, callbacks and self-tapes all together for that show!
7. What was the experience like meeting and working with Carol Burnett?
When I auditioned I didn’t know who she was. My parents didn’t tell me until after I got the job, because my favorite movie is the original “Annie” and she played Miss Hannigan. But she’s super nice and very funny. She loves cats. It’s amazing to see an actor who has worked for that many years and still loves what she does!
8. How different is it working on a non scripted show?
I think it’s actually harder in some ways and easier in some ways. It’s harder because you really have to be thinking the entire time and you have to be fast to come up with ideas and answers. On the other hand it’s easier because you just get to be yourself. There’s no getting into character or worrying about if you’re doing it right or wrong.
9. Who have been some of your favorite people you have gotten to work with?
Well Carol Burnett obviously, and also Candace Cameron from the show. I loved working with Dove Cameron, and then director James Burrows. He is a legend and it was an amazing opportunity to work for him and learn from him on the pilot I shot called “Like Family”.
10. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
That’s a question I get a lot and I really don’t have one. They were all awesome experiences with great people, but all for different reasons.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and lots of fun in 2020!
