The Neighbors

7 Days ‘Til Christmas!

Marlowe Peyton played Melody in an episode of Parenthood and played Tanner in episodes of The Neighbors. This year she has been seen in a new episode of Fresh Off the Boat, and she has a secret music project to share!

1. How did you enjoy working with Forrest Wheeler on Fresh Off the Boat?

I had a great time filming my latest episode of Fresh Off the Boat. I got to do all my scenes with Forrest! He’s so talented, and I loved working with him.

2. Do you have a favorite scene you did for the episode?

My favorite scene was the one where Forrest comes in to tell me that Tiger Woods is half asian, it has such fantastic, hilarious writing, and I got to do a spit take! So, that was a lot of fun!

3. What was it like attending The Jonathan Foundation Event?

One of the best things I get to do all year, is be a celebrity ambassador for the Jonathan Foundation. The event this year was amazing, with incredible stories about so many children and what they’ve had to overcome. Truly an inspiring night, and I can’t wait for next year.

4. What has the experience been like getting involved in KawaiiHappii?

My sisters show Kawaiihappii is great, because we get to go to some cool events and we all work on it together as a family! Even if I’m not seen on camera you can bet I’m probably there helping with some part of the production.

5. Do you have a favorite episode you’ve been in this year with your sister?

Merit loves K-Pop. So filming K-Pop reaction videos are always fun! We always see different things in the music videos, so it’s really cool to compare our perspectives.

6. What has been one of the coolest things you’ve done for an audition this year?

I love all auditions, but I love the ones I get to sing in the most. I’ve done a lot of good signing ones this year.

7. Can we expect to hear any covers or original music from you any time soon?

Believe it or not, I’ve already released two original songs under an anonymous name R.I.P (Really Introverted Producer)! I’ve always been into Vocaloids, like Hatsune Miku, and a few months ago I decided to become a Vocaloid Producer. I write original songs, produce the tracks, create the illustrations, and tune the Vocaloids. So, now the secret is out! Here’s the link: check it out!

Jyllina Skye Rodriguez did an episode of The Neighbors. This year she has been seen on Fresh Off the Boat and has recently been working on the film Little Cousin!

1. What was the best part of filming your VTech commercials?

It was like playtime! I loved the merry-go-round. They attached the kiddie zoom action cam to the merry-go-round to film us as we were going around and I got to hold one as I went down the slide. The version with the slide is in the French version of the commercial. Its so cool to see yourself in a commercial that is not in English! LOL!

2. What was it like shooting for Fishman and Tobin?

I got to shoot this with my friend Jax. Getting to work with your friends is always pretty awesome. We shot all the scenes in a school in LA. One of the rooms we shot in was a music room and we got to play with the instruments. I play the drums so I chose the drums while we were shooting.

3. How did you enjoy being interviewed for LA Talk Radio?

It was my first time doing a radio interview. I got to wear headphones and they gave me a microphone to speak into. I got myself pumped up right before the interview by entertaining myself in the lobby. I did mucialily’s while I waited for my turn. I tried to give my best answers without giving away any of the stories to the questions they asked me. One of the cast members to 22 years was with me.

4. How did it feel seeing your photo in the South Philly Review?

Oh my gosh, that was so exciting! Dawn Noel texted a picture of it to my mom while she was in Philly. So cool to see a picture of yourself in a newspaper.

5. What was your time on set like working on Fresh Off the Boat?

Filming Fresh off the Boat was cool, I made new friends and met new people. I was part of the Fresh off the Boat debate team. They gave us real debate books that I read in between takes.

6. What was the experience like filming with Constance Wu?

Working with Constance Wu was so exciting. I drew a picture for her while we were filming the classroom scene and I gave it to her after we wrapped the scene. She loved it. Shes soooooo funny!

7. How did you enjoy working with Ian Chen?

Ian is super nice, he was telling jokes between takes. He’s very professional and I loved that about him.

8. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?

The Pastor for sure. There is so much that I want to say about this project but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. You will be surprised for sure.

9. Is there anything you can preview about your upcoming series in Probable Cause?

What I can say is that it is a super cool police TV show. The lead characters are Alex Hudson and Lindsay Davis. I’m in the first episode that comes out. It will have some pretty cool surprises which end up being bigger then the people who watch originally thought. The cast and crew are pretty amazing. They have already begun filming. My scenes will film towards the end of December. I can’t wait!

10. Can you share anything about your role in Little Cousin?

My character and her best friend have a crush on Isaac. The girls are best friends and have a tight bond. My favorite part was getting to ride my bike in some of the scenes. It was my first time being mic’d on a bike. It was super fun.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Definitely go see The Pastor! It should be out by the end of this year or beginning of next year. This was my first feature film and I learned and grew so much during filming. I most definitely want to continue filming movies. You really get to bond with the cast and crew because you spend so much time with them. I have a small cameo in my sister’s feature film which films in December too.

1.What was it like attending the Nintendo Switch Event?

Nintendo’s events are incredible. I went to both days of the event and it was an immersive and amazing experience. I’m a HUGE Nintendo Switch nerd, I love the console so much.

2. How did you enjoy attending the Dream Halloween event this year?

This event is just so much fun, seeing the kids all dressed up and smiling is the best. This year I went as a pink donut which was super cool and there were great performances as well! The kids had an amazing time, it was such a special night for a bunch of brave kids.

3. What has been your favorite episode to work on for KawaiiHappii this year?

Ooh… Picking a favorite is hard! KawaiiHappii is about all the things I love, but I have to say I especially enjoyed vlogging from Kcon and the Kcon concert! It was an an incredible week.

4. Do you have an idea for an episode you hope to be able to film one day?

There are so many! My top two ideas would be; One, to do a vlog from the Nintendo Headquarters in Japan! And two, to cover more Kpop concerts, like EXO or BTS’ next concerts in Seoul, for international fans.

5. What was the experience like being a part of Kid Kon?

KidKon was an amazing thing to be a part of and an awesome, nerdy event for kids! I had an fantastic opportunity to talk about what I do as a Youtuber, and to give advice to some other kids who want to do the same.

6. Hello, Merit! My question is the following one: Of all the roles that you’ve done so far, which ones are your favorites? Thanks in advance, and have a Merry Christmas (or most well, Merry-t Christmas)!

My favorite has to be my latest role as Hannah on Netfilx’s Alexa & Katie which is coming out in 2018! I have another favorite, but it’s Top Secret so stay tuned. 🙂

7. Do you have anything else in the works coming for your fans in the new year?

Lots of exciting things are happening next year! So, watch my social media for more on that, and make sure to keep an eye out for Lucinda The Witch on episodes of Disney Jr.’s Sofia The First!

Lucas Armendariz is Laura Krystine’s younger brother. This year he has been seen on Law & Order True Crime, filmed for the movie To the Beat! and more!

1. What was your time on set like filming your Star Wars video for Disney?

That was a dream job!!! I worked with, Roy Wood who played the Toy Maker in the video! Roy actually worked at Disneyland and made some of the millennium falcon for the ride! He was really making models for the video and I got to keep some of the clay models he made! He let me have some of his clay and tools and I have enjoyed them to this day! I absolutely loved that job and will never forget the experience of working at Disney animation studios! It’s definitely my most favorite job I’ve ever done!

2. What was it like getting to work with a green screen?

A green screen is fun, I actually don’t really notice, I just do what I’m suppose to and don’t pay attention to the screen much.

3. How did you enjoy being a part of your sisters film To The Beat!?

The producer, Susan Bernhardt wrote me in a scene that had me supporting the opposing team of my sister! LOL! So I was actually cheering for the team that was against my sister! But it was so much fun! I got to play basketball with Dexter Darden in between scenes and I also met Kelli Berglund.

4. Do you have a favorite part of attending the premiere for the film?

I loved walking the carpet and having my picture taken. They also had a HUGE, HUGE Candy bar so I loved that!

5. What is it like to film for a Late Night talk show?

So much fun!! I did 4 different skits for Jimmy Kimmel but all of those were not filmed live. When I worked on the James Corden show it was live, but we had 3 rehearsals so I felt very prepared.

6. How did you like filming with James Corden?

James Corden is very funny he made us all laugh.

7. What was your experience like working on Law & Order True Crime?

So cool!!! It took so long to curl all my hair! Everyone thought I was wearing a wig!! But it was all my hair! I really enjoyed our tennis scene(it never made the final cut) but I got to play a lot of tennis before and after the scene.

8. What was the process like to get you ready to film as Young Erik?

Very serious and a lot of preparation. I really wanted to put myself in character as best as I could, so I would take a minute to myself while the crew was testing lighting.

9. How did you enjoy working with Carlos Gomez?

Carlos would help me get in character, he would lead the scene so that I could follow perfectly. I admire Carlos and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to work directly with him and Lolita Davidovich!

10. Is there anything you can share about your role in Survivors Guide to Prison?

I worked on that so long ago. It’s suppose to release in 2018. I’m in a flashback scene for that film.

Leilani Brosnan filmed an episode of The Neighbors and has a large resume of theatrical, commercial, and print work. This year she has worked for Nickelodeon, Kohl’s, petitePARADE and you may have spotted her in your local Guess Factory store too!

1. How did you get involved with the Looking Ahead program run by SAG?

I think my mom got an email from Looking Ahead about joining so we did! I have gone to about 12 events and they are all fabulous! We have done Lazer Tag, visited farms, done charity work and had picnics among other things.

2. What has been your favorite trip to attend with them?

My favorite Looking Ahead event was the Knott’s Berry Farm day even though I had to leave early for an audition! Commitment!

3. What was your time on set like shooting Under Armour for Kohl’s?

We shot Under Amour at a school track field in the heat! There were a few other kids shooting with me so that made it fun. We did many athletic poses and played mini games while they shot us modeling adorable new styles for Kohl’s. The weird thing is – it was well paid but I have only seen one photo used from that shoot – I guess I should be happy though since it was of me!

4. Do you have a favorite shot you did for your petitePARADE editorial?

Shooting the editorial for petitParade was probably my favorite job so far this year and we all did it for free! We sailed out on a yacht from Marina Del Rey out into the ocean with some nice other kids and really cool nautical style fashions from the best designers! Some of the shots were a bit scary since we were going pretty fast and I tend to get sea sick! Luckily I didn’t this time and the shots turned out really great! Wish I could do more shoots like this one.

5. How do you choose your wardrobe for your photoshoots with Rachel Images?

Rachel Images does all the amazing styling for the shoots with really cool clothes and accessories and props. Sometimes she asks us to bring a few items like basic shoes or tops but mostly Rachel does everything like making unbelievable crowns out of shells, headpieces from bird feathers and the last shoot her sister came and did some unusual braiding of my hair! There is no other photographer out there like her and now she is in demand worldwide and flies to Russia to shoot, etc.

6. How did you enjoy shooting for Guess Factory?

I think I shot for Guess Factory about 3 times this year so people are going to be sick of seeing me in the store windows all around the world! They are really the nicest company to shoot for out there. We usually shoot the factory photos in their headquarters in downtown LA which is massive and I don’t even think I have been in all the buildings! We always arrive to an amazing breakfast and relaxed atmosphere. Their jobs are No Stress just fun! We seen to wrap fairly quickly so the only bad thing is that my mom usually makes me go to school after.

7. What was the experience like auditioning for a lead role for a Disney project?

Getting to audition at the Disney Studios with the actual Disney casting staff is always a huge honor even if you know they have probably already cast the role before they even see you! It’s just nice to be asked! And I guess you never know!

8. What was the best part of filming your Origami Artist segment for Nickelodeon?

The kids they picked for the Nickelodeon shoot were all really cute and extremely talented. I can’t wait to see the commercial which is taking a really long time to produce! I think it will be called something like “You Be You” so be sure to watch for it!

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

Always the GUESS staff – there is none better out there.

10. What has been your favorite project to work on this year?

My favorite project so far this year? Hmmm….actually they were all great and the year’s not over yet!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

In closing I will say that filming editorial with jimjam.jimjam for their Instagram account was really fun and different and the photos turned out to be amazing! I am also doing a shoot for a Mermaid calendar which will be pretty fun. Also, middle school has been so challenging that we really had to cut back on my auditions and jobs this year which has been unfortunate for my bank account but mainly because working is a lot more fun than going to school!
