General Hospital

12 Days ‘Til Christmas!

Sofia Naccarato has done episodes of both General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. This year she has been busy with a commercial for A&W, performing at the Kids’ Choice Awards, and doing live theatre!

1. What was your time on set like filming your A&W commercial?

A&W was really fun because first I got to work with one of my friends Ruby Jay, and also because all the kids on the set we also do musical theater and like to sing so we sang a lot during our breaks.

2. What was the experience like performing at Universal City Walk?

That was really cool because the tech on their stage was amazing the lights the sound for a live performance was probably the best I’ve ever experienced.

3. How does it feel to have worked on two iconic soap operas?

I feel really proud to have been able to work on such iconic soap operas. The professionalism on set is just an amazing experience.

4. What was the experience like being involved in the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards?

That was an incredible experience because not only was it a live television performance but it was also filmed in front of a huge crowd on stage. The energy was exciting and intense.

5. How did you enjoy getting dressed up as Wonder Woman?

That was really cool because the costumes were handmade for each person to fit you exactly and the details on the costumes were like nothing you can buy in any store. I still have mine. They let us keep them.

6. Did you do anything special to prepare performing in front of a crowd that large?

No, I actually didn’t realize how large the crowd was until I was out on the stage.

7. How did you prepare for your role in Shrek the Musical?

Well musical theater preparation is a lot of work I actually worked on that role for about three months before we opened the show.

8. What was it like taking the stage on opening night?

It was actually really hectic because I was working on the A&W commercial that day and I had to rush straight from filming to opening night and I actually missed walking the red carpet. I think we have some funny footage of me running down the red carpet all by myself as I was late for call time.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with this year?

I was involved in a really cool film project and the director Natalia Hermida and her team were absolutely amazing. I learned so much from being on set with them and watching the way they all work together.

10. Is there anything you can share about your upcoming short film?

I was so thrilled to be involved with this project because all of my acting had to be done without any lines. It was all emotive through facial and body gesture.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you to Star-Kidz for including me again this year in the Holiday Q&A.

Reagan Fernandez is Scarlett’s older sister. She has done episodes of The Kicks, The Thundermans and you may have spotted her in various catalogs for American Girl!

1. How did you get started acting?

It was actually my mom that got me started. Wherever we went people were always telling her that she should get me started in acting. Our friends knew some managers and the rest was history.

2. Do you remember your first audition?

I was five months old when I started acting so I don’t remember my very first auditions but I so remember some very early ones.

3. How did you enjoy filming your episodes of The Kicks?

Filming the Kicks was super fun. We got to shoot at this beautiful school. All of the girls were around my age and we all did school together and talked in between scenes.

4. What was your experience like filming your Old Navy commercial?

Filming the Old Navy commercial was so cool. I already knew some of the kids from auditioning and from past jobs. We filmed on the Warner brothers lot in the little city of facades and working with Julia Louis Dreyfus was amazing.

5. What was your time on set like filming for The Thundermans?

I definitely remember this audition. I auditioned and the next week was the table read. I remember being really nervous for the table read because everyone already knew each other, but everyone was super welcoming and they showed me around and we hung out the whole week. When I came back to film more episodes, we basically picked up where we left off.

6. What was it like attending GHFCW with your sister?

It was awesome. I already knew some of the cast from visiting set, and I got to meet new people too. It was so nice to see the people that support her and the show.

7. What was the best part of shooting for American Girl?

I shot multiple times in multiple beautiful locations for American Girl. One of my favorite was a huge mansion in Malibu.

8. How did it feel seeing yourself in their catalogs for the first time?

We have always been big fans of American Girl at our house, so it was so cool getting to see myself in the catalog along with the other girls. My friends all got the catalog too and would always tell me that they saw me.

9. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

The Thundermans would probably be my favorite project to date. It was my first tv show role and I was ecstatic when I found out that I got the part.

My first audition I was very nervous, although the people there were very nice, but I had no idea what I was doing.

It was very long and a lot of sitting around, but everybody was super sweet and helpful and it is always fun being on set and doing what I love.

I loved working on Tosh.0 because it was hilarious and everyone on set was super funny and friendly and Daniel was great.

It was again a ton of waiting around, but when I got on set I was nervous because the moment that I have been waiting for and working for finally came.

6. How did you react when you found out you were brought back for a second episode?

I was just so exciting that I was given the opportunity to come back on one of the biggest soap operas there is and I was just so thankful and happy I started jumping up and down and I almost started crying happy tears.

7. What was it like filming with Matt Cohen?

He is just such a great amazing person and he is great to work with. I just felt so blessed that I got to work with him, he is one of the sweetest people I ever worked with.

8. How did you feel seeing your episodes air on TV?

It was a little frustrating because I am so used to criticizing myself and I was just thinking of how I could have done things better, but I was also extremely proud and happy for how far I have come.

9. Who have been some of your favorite people to work with in the industry?

I have loved everybody I’ve worked with and I could not choose who is my favorite because they are all so sweet and great.
