Busy Young Actress Stars in ABC’s ‘Revenge’
It’s not every day one gets to experience a gifted young actress who can easily segue from TV to film and back again to primetime television. The day that Emily Alyn Lind wrapped the $20 million dollar feature Still I Rise as Maggie Gyllenhall’s daughter, she was flown from the Pittsburgh set back to Hollywood to star as “young” Emily Van Camp in ABC’s new fall drama Revenge, which made its series premiere September 21.
The nine-year-old was a serious contender for an Emmy nomination for her role as a cancer patient in the 2010 film November Christmas presented through Hallmark Hall of Fame. Other TV appearances include Criminal Minds, Flashpoint, Medium, Eastwick, Days of Our Lives, and as “Emma” on the ABC daytime drama All My Children.
Lind is the daughter of assistant director John Lind and actress Barbara Alyn Woods (One Tree Hill, The Gates, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show, Striptease).
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Emily, how are you today?
Emily Alyn Lind: Good, how are you?
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Doing well. I’m a fan of your work on All My Children.
Emily Alyn Lind: Thank you.
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Did you form any friendships there with the other young actors?
Emily Alyn Lind: Yeah, I did, with young JR. We went to school together so every free time we had we would play together.
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Who was the nicest adult?
Emily Alyn Lind: Definitely Cameron and Rebecca who plays Greenlee. They were almost like my mom and dad really. I just loved them so much.
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Do you ever have trouble remembering your lines?
Emily Alyn Lind: No way! I’m really into it so I don’t think so, no.

GH Casting News
According to Soap Opera Digest: GH has put out a casting call for T.J., a 14-year-old African American male who is "urban, rebellious, an appealing kid who masks it with a huge chip on his shoulder." The role is described as "major ongoing recurring" and begins taping in mid-December. Hmmm. Wonder if sexy Shawn (Sean Blakemore) has a son?

Madeline Carroll: Hello, Hawaii!
Madeline Carroll paddles her way back to shore as she enjoys a family vacation in Hawaii on Monday (October 10).
The 15-year-old actress had some fun in the sun with her younger brother — racing him to and from the rocks to the shoreline.

Next up for Madeline: Vanilla Gorilla which follows a New York girl who befriends Gogo, the world’s only living albino gorilla. Through sign language they communicate and bond, and their ensuing trans-African quest to return Gogo to the wild puts ruthless poachers, determined CNN reporters, and one very concerned parent on their tail.

Lexi Ainsworth
We are sad to report that after many rumors...it is true, Lexi Ainsworth will be exiting the role of Kristina Davis on General Hospital. As per Twitter moments ago, Lexi said:
Sorry it seems that I wasn't responding I was asked by Jill and again by Mitch the publicist not to say anything but since it appears to be officially out there I will confirm I shot my last episode at GH yesterday. It's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I wouldn't trade one second of it even the not so great parts for all that I've learned to prepare me for the next phase of my career. I want to THANK each one of you from the bottom of my heart! Soap fans are the best and I'm so glad to have been part of it's legacy. I wish I could have a tweet fest but believe it or not my landlord told me I had to be out of my apartment by tomorrow so I'm moving but only to storage since I'm going to be 5 weeks on location for this film. Which is another thing I'm so thankful for and wouldn't have gotten to do this if things hadn't worked out the way they did. I promise to tweet to you during my down time as there is sooooo much more of it making films than soaps HAHA Well, I love you all and I am still rooting for GH to beat the odds because you all deserve to see the talents of all those amazing people for years to come! I want to thank my cast-mates, all the wonderful people in hair/makeup and wardrobe for an amazing last day! Beautiful flowers and balloons & food but especially the love & support that I feel overwhelm me so with that ...Good night but not Good bye ;)

'Frenemies' Poster!
Starring Zendaya, Bella Thorne and Stefanie Scott, the movie follows a group of 15 year old kids learn some truths about friendships, such as whom to trust, whom to stay away from, and most importantly, whom to forgive.
Just one of the stories to follow: two teen girls, Savannah (Mary Mouser), a skateboarding tomboy who grew up in a hectic family of four brothers, and Devin (also Mouser) who is a feminine rich girl that grew up in a silver-spoon privileged family and attends the prestigious Ligget Academy.
It turns out that the two girls are twins who were separated at birth. The girls make a decision to switch lives for a week and walk a mile in each others shoes!

Tiffany’s been tweeting all about her adventure, and tour guide Bindi. “Having a great time in Australia! Here’s a pic of Bindi, Robert and me hiking in the Rain Forest #funtimes!” she wrote on Twitter.
The girls also spent some time with crocodiles (”At the crocodile show! Crocs are amazing and Bindi IS brave! #nobeltsshoesorpurses! #AustraliaZoo”) and at the wildlife hospital (”Spending time at the Australia Zoo Animal Hospital 2day! They work very hard to heal sick koalas, kangaroos, and more!”)

Kenton Duty Lands Lead in Indie Film
The Shake It Up star is taking on a different role as the lead in the indie film Amazing Love: The Story of Hosea.
The movie is a story about many invaluable lessons learned during those early and often rocky, teenage years. For a unique mix of five teens, they embark on a life lesson of unconditional love to help guide them through life.
Kenton plays "Steve," the salt of the earth in his group. He is the glue that holds his group together and the team leader.
Having just taken on a guest-star role in the new ABC Tim Allen comedy "Last Man Standing" (airing around the holidays), it seems as if Kenton's career is really taking off in many exciting directions.
Congrats to Kenton, and stay tuned for more details as they come!

Memories from All My Children's children, Emma and AJ
On September 23, 2011 it was soap opera's All My Children's last day on ABC. The show was produced and taped at Stages A and B at the Andrita Studios in Los Angeles, California. The show aired on September 23rd, and the following information and interview happened that same day - enjoy!
Most of what everyone tends to remember when it comes to anything 'entertainment' is usually the adult actors.
In this case, though, when it comes to All My Children, the children who have been a part of this famous daytime soap opera are quite memorable themselves. They, like the adults, have equally helped to make the show so special.
Danielle Parker (Emma Lavery) and Tate Barney (AJ) are two of those special and talented young actors.
Danielle's and Tate Barney's mothers, Shari and Sandra, have been so kind in asking their children to share with examiner.com some of their memories/experiences on the set of All My Children. By the way, Danielle and Tate are best buddies!
Danielle Parker has been with the show since August 17, 2010. The character first appeared in July 2006.
Danielle, what was your first day on the AMC set like?
"My first day on set I was nervous, but when I got on set and started working with Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Brittany Allen (ex-Marissa), and Tate Barney (AJ), they were all so welcoming and helped me find my way."
Did you have a favorite All My Children storyline?
"My favorite storyline was when Emma was kidnapped by her mother, Annie, and returned angry and lashing out at Greenlee. It was so much fun to play the bad girl!"
How about your funniest memory?
"My funniest memory is the first time I was in Ryan’s penthouse. I was suppose to come through the front door, but it would not open because it was jammed."
In general, what can you say about your experience on All My Children?
"Every day I got to go to work at All My Children was filled with great memories, great friendship, and so much fun!"
Is there anything extra special that you would like to share about your last week on set or anything else about it or the cast members as well?
"Being a part of the last week on set was so special. It was wonderful to be with all of the cast and crew and so sad to know we were filming the last week of shows.
I am going to miss seeing everyone until we hopefully come back to work on the Internet - All My Children with Prospect Park.
My wonderful TV Dad, Cameron Mathison, has recently signed with Prospect Park to continue as Ryan Lavery in the new Internet All My Children."
Tate, what has it been like for you to have worked on All My Children?
"Being on set the last few days of filming was fun because everyone was there, but it was also sad because I'm going to miss everyone a lot.
It was really hard saying goodbye to Jacob, since he is going to the Bold and the Beatiful.
It has been so much fun and such a cool experience. I can't wait to go on the Internet with everyone. I hope they really want me!"
Thank you Tate, Danielle and your mothers for allowing examiner.com the priviledge of sharing your All My Children memories. All of us at examiner.com look forward to what is in store for the show and for each of you as well!
By the way, outside sources, as well as the show itself, reveal that when the series finale aired it was left open-ended (a cliffhanger!) for an eventual return with Prospect Park.
The show's Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) seem to have broken up for good, and in the end, a drunk JR Chandler is shown shooting at an undisclosed person that could either be Erica or someone else.

Barbara Alyn Woods Describes Her "Circus Family" (May 2011)
Hoping to get your kids into showbiz? Barbara Alyn Woods, most recently known for her role of Deb Scott on One Tree Hill, has some firsthand experience and advice! She and husband John Lind - who produced the recent hit Soul Surfer - are parents to three up-and-coming stars: Natalie, 11, Emily, 9, and Alyvia, 4. The mom-of-three opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about their family that "never stops," and how to create a "stable and nurturing environment" for child actors.
CBS: Tell us about your three daughters Natalie, Emily and Alyvia.
BAW: "Our family never stops! It's so important to us that we do achieve a balanced life, so I make sure we put as much effort into having "fun" as we do into school and work. Recently, work has been taking over a bit. Lately, at least two of the five Linds are working on any given day but the good news is that we all enjoy "working" immensely! It's a great life when you love your job.
Alyvia is about to turn 4, and she has been ready for this business for 2 years. She "writes" her own movies, then casts them, directs them and shoots them herself! She usually plays the lead. When she was only 2-years old, she would sit and listen to her sisters (and me) rehearse our lines, and she would walk away knowing them word-for-word. John and I realized very early on that we had created another one! She absolutely loves to work on scripts. It's kind of cliche to say that it's in her blood...but I don't have any other way to explain it. When other kids want to ride their bikes, she wants to make movies."
CBS: All three of your girls are becoming stars of their own. How are you safeguarding them from the crazy world of Tinseltown?
BAW: "I, for one, have never considered Tinseltown that crazy. I find it exhilarating. My kids love the fast pace. We work out of town so often in such diverse locations, though, that we're all able to taste many different life styles and cultures. It helps to keep all of us grounded.
Natalie, Emily and Aly focus a lot of their attention and love on their maltipoo puppy, Georgie. She's their traveling companion when they work out of town...a little "taste of home" when they spend weeks at a time on location.
They love gymnastics, and take hip hop class. Aly's recently started ballet. We're all movie buffs so we spend our weekends watching classics. We challenge anyone to find a scary movie we haven't seen!"
CBS: Your husband is a producer - is he planning to work with the girls in a film soon?
BAW: "John is a producer and would love to find a project for all four of us. At least it would keep us all in the same city! We would have so much fun playing "a family." Actually, Emily has written a few scripts with roles for each of us. It would be fantastic for an 8-year old screenwriter to get her film produced, wouldn't it?!"
CBS: What's your best advice for parents who want to get their kids into showbiz?
BAW: "My best advice when parents ask about getting their kids involved in acting is, “Be sure that this is what they want to do.” When you're successful at it, you have to love it so much that you're willing to give up a lot. You have to be sure that this is their dream, not yours. I am constantly giving the girls an out if they want one. I always tell them that the minute they're not enjoying this, we'll find something else that they do enjoy. And although, your children need to know to take their work very seriously, they should never feel the pressure of getting work. This is their activity - just like other kids join soccer or basketball teams."
CBS: Why do you think so many child stars are troubled in their adult years?
BAW: "John and I hold the enormous responsibility of providing the girls with a stable and nurturing environment. Wherever we may be working - whatever hotel we're living in, whatever city we're in - one thing never changes: Family. When Natalie was 5-years old and had already been uprooted several times for our work, she said to me one day (when I expressed concern that we shouldn't move around so much), "Home is where we are." Now, every time one of us is lucky enough to get another job, and we're all packing our bags for another adventure, we all say in unison, "Home is where we are!" "
CBS: What's up next for all of you?
BAW: "Literally, at this very moment I have five suitcases waiting to be packed. Natalie and I are heading to New York this weekend to read for a Rob Reiner project. Emily leaves in a couple days to shoot her new movie Still I Rise, playing Maggie Gyllenhaal's daughter. Aly and John stay here in Los Angeles for Aly's callback, then meet us in Pittsburgh in a week (with puppy Georgie in tow). Next month, Natalie goes to Shreveport to shoot her next film while John flies back to LA to work on a documentary. It's a little crazy. I call us "the circus family." But ya know what, life NEVER gets boring!"
